Lia Morris is the Lead of Island Institute's Marine Decarbonization Program, with a strong background in strategic program design, systems design and assessment, pipeline development, branding, and program evaluation and implementation.

Lia Morris holds a Master's degree in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University, a Senior Fellow designation from the Environmental Leadership Program, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder.

With a diverse educational background that includes participation in the Patagonia Tools For Grassroots Activists Conference and Outdoor Leadership training at NOLS, Lia Morris excels in environmental leadership and community development.

Prior to her current role, Lia Morris has held various positions, including Senior Community Development Officer and Community Development Officer at Island Institute, STEM Advisor at Colby College, Executive Director at Teens to Trails, and Coordinator of the Environmental Studies Program at Colby College.

Lia Morris's experience also includes roles such as Communications and Outreach Coordinator at Penobscot River Restoration Trust and Communications Manager at the Global Development & Environment Institute at Tufts University.
