Highlights
During my last role as a Pricing Specialist at Helloprint, our team was cross-functional at heart and constantly involved with the various core business functions (e.g. Finance, Marketing, CRM, Category Management and SEO) within the organization.
The nature of what we did was purely data-driven and fact-based which made almost everything we accomplished having a visible impact on the overall business performance (i.e. conversion rates, recurring number of orders, revenue streams and gross profit margins).
We were among those e-commerce businesses who pioneered in leveraging on cutting-edge Big Data & Analytics technologies to steer our strategy direction towards a profitable and sustainable path. Similar to the AI models mentioned in the BCG article below, we've been already experimenting for quite some time in creating and testing 'in-house' AI-powered Pricing models that are:
- Dynamic: to better predict and reflect the ever-changing pricing fluctuations
- Real-Time: to constantly monitor the market trends and spotting any hidden recurring patterns
- Competitive: to react to the market's tactical moves and decide on a suitable pricing strategy (Cost-based, Value-based or Competition-based)
This enabled us to overcome the increasingly complex pricing strategy and better absorb the market's conditions which led to, in turn, better informed strategic decisions in the long run.
If you, or someone you know, is looking for support in incorporating Pricing Analytics within your company's overarching strategy, i am currently open for project-based assignments (as ZZP/freelance).
Feel free to tag or share this post within your network if you think they might be looking for a pricing specialist to join their arsenal in the near future.
Many thanks, network!
