Liliana Salazar is a versatile professional with a background in biochemistry and design, blending her expertise in user research, insight & opportunity discovery, experience design, and behavioral design.

With over 20 years of global experience, Liliana has worked in a range of sectors, from clinical facilities to user-centered innovation consultancies, across LMIC in Asia, Africa, Europe, and North and South America.

Her interests revolve around connecting technology with users in meaningful ways, focusing on creative tools and methodologies, user testing, concept design, prototyping, and product and service strategy.

Currently based in Vancouver, Liliana operates as a freelance innovation consultant, engaging with local and international public and private sector organizations to drive impactful change and foster adaptive systems.

Her educational background includes a Masters in User-centered Design from Istituto Europeo di Design, an Honours BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology from the University of Victoria, and studies in Service Design at Politecnico di Milano.

Throughout her career, Liliana has held key roles such as Service Design & Innovation Consultant, Freelance Service Designer at Fuelfor, Experience Design Lead at Node, and contributed significantly to organizations like the OECD, Renault, and BC Cancer Agency in various capacities.

Her expertise spans areas such as healthcare, contextualizing future technologies, social impact, and designing adaptive systems for the changing landscape of user needs and preferences.
