Lillyth Quillan

Founder of Parents of Children with Conduct Disorder

Lillyth Quillan is a prominent advocate for parents of children diagnosed with Conduct Disorder (CD). She is the founder of the Parents of Children with Conduct Disorder (PCCD), a support group that she established in 2014 after struggling to find resources and community for parents facing similar challenges. The group has grown significantly, now boasting around 800 members from across the globe, providing a platform for sharing experiences, research, and coping strategies in a supportive environment.12

Quillan's motivation to create PCCD stemmed from her own experiences as a parent of a child with CD. She faced isolation and misunderstanding from others, which led her to seek out a community where parents could connect and support one another. Her efforts have not only helped many families feel less alone but have also highlighted the need for more awareness and resources regarding Conduct Disorder.12

In addition to her work with PCCD, Quillan has written about the challenges faced by families dealing with CD, including issues related to animal cruelty and the legal system's response to such behaviors in children. Her advocacy emphasizes the importance of recognizing these behaviors as serious issues that require attention and intervention.2

Quillan's professional background includes real estate training, but her primary focus remains on her advocacy work and supporting parents through the complexities of raising children with behavioral disorders.3

One of the biggest problems people parenting children with CD/psychopathy deal with is that clinicians do not understand these conditions, and therefore are unable to properly treat them. Well, we have a fix for that!

Psychopathy Is is excited to be expanding our educational efforts to include a Continuing Education class we have created. Hosted by Palo Alto University, this course will include presentations from Psychopathy Is board members Abigail Marsh, Carrie Barron, and Chris Patrick.

Class 1 Title: What is Psychopathy? Date & Time: September 16, 2022 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Pacific Presenter: Chris Patrick, PhD Price: $100.00 Landing Page Link: https://lnkd.in/gtsVD7xh

Class 2: Title: The Development of Conduct Disorder and Aggression Date & Time: October 26, 2022 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Pacific Presenter: Abigail Marsh, PhD Price: $100.00 Landing Page Link: https://lnkd.in/g2-ZJBVi

Class 3: Title: The Overlap between Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Psychopathy Date & Time: November 15, 2022 - 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Pacific Presenter: Carrie Barron, MD Price: $100.00 Landing Page Link: https://lnkd.in/gEX_bgNw

The aim of these CE courses is to broaden clinicians’ awareness of the origins of psychopathy and how it can best be assessed and treated. We HIGHLY ENCOURAGE parents and/or individuals with psychopathy to share these CEU courses with their treatment professionals. Every treatment professional MUST complete CEU’s every year in order to maintain their license. They are going to have to do CEU’s anyway, why not take a few courses that will help their most intractable clients?
