Company culture is something you feel before you can even define it - and the leaders at Comcast California are doing it right!
From the moment I walked into the building and even prior to that - as we were having the conversations to prepare for the all day Coaches Camp - I was struck by the professionalism and care that defined every aspect of the operations.
A huge shoutout to David Tashjian for running an organization that puts people first - customers, employees, and stakeholders! I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to share my story and the lessons I've learned on building resilience and succeeding against the odds.
I talked about how we shift for growth:
- Diversify - constantly increase the value that we offer.
- Pivot - change course based on what matters most.
- Let go - making tough choices that help us realign.
Connecting to our deep sense of purpose allows us to tap into the courage that's necessary to navigate the inevitable challenges that come along the way.
The theme of the day was aptly named Go for GOLD and I applaud Comcast for supporting the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, with Brian Raney being there to accept the donation in person!
Many thanks to Dillon Auyoung for graciously inviting me to the event and making me feel truly welcome. Also, a day like this is not possible without the hard work of many, many people - thank you to the ultimate professionals Dan Pryor, Brian Lasek, Ferhaan Jawed, and everyone else who made this day possible!
On my way home I picked up the latest edition of Harvard Business Review, which focuses on the qualities leaders need today to create a vision in a world of uncertainty, motivate others toward a common goal despite their differences, and focus on the results that matter! The work I saw take place at Comcast is positioning its leaders to be poised for opportunities amid a rapidly changing environment.
And last but not least, I saw a commitment to #sustainability in the everyday office operations that is indicative of the ambitious company goals and the continued reduction of the scope 1 & 2 emissions year-over-year that Comcast is experiencing! Bravo!
