Lindsay Coates

Working to end the violence of poverty and injustice

Lindsay Coates is best known for her role as the Managing Director of BRAC's Ultra-Poor Graduation Initiative (UPGI), focusing on eradicating extreme poverty worldwide through the Graduation approach.

With a background in civil rights law, Lindsay Coates also served as the President of InterAction, overseeing management and outreach to members and partners, and has been involved in various committees and boards related to global development and poverty alleviation.

She holds a JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law and a BA in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude from The University of the South, and has furthered her education with a non-resident fellowship at MIT Center for International Studies.

Having worked in roles such as Chief Operating Officer at Population Action International and in several positions in the private and public sector as an attorney, Lindsay Coates brings a diverse skill set and experience to her work in the nonprofit sector.
