🚨 Tips for Seniors to Stay a Step Ahead of Scammers 🚨
1️⃣ Monitor Your Account Digitally → Use mobile and online banking to look for suspicious activity on your account. Set up text or email notifications to inform you of transactions. 2️⃣ Enlist Help from Trusted People → Add a trusted friend or family (or fiduciary!) member as a Shared Access user to your digital account. The view-only access makes it easy for them to help you monitor. 3️⃣ Know and Share the Latest Scams → A popular tactic thieves use is pretending to be a family member in trouble, needing money urgently. Don’t fall for it. Stay informed and share this knowledge with others.
🔎 If you, or a senior you know, think you’ve been scammed → Contact us and/or the company involved right away. Then, report it and get help with your case from the U.S. Department of Justice's National Elder Fraud Hotline at 833-FRAUD-11 (372-8311).
