For the last few years we’ve been looking for a solution for a very specific problem. Every time we run a program like Wavemakers or a Protect Blue gathering we end up with folk who want to come back again and again.

We’ve built incredible friendships, had insightful conversations and catalysed collabs and support for ocean advocates - but we’ve found ourselves having to turn down amazing alumni because we’re trying to be as inclusive as possible and extend opportunities to new folk who are keen to join.

We’ve been exploring how we might create a space that anyone in our community can join - so we’re super stoked to share that we’ll be hosting a coworking house this autumn in the SW of France !

The co-working house is an opportunity to work alongside like-minded ocean advocates in a beautiful spot with easy access to the forest & surf. We'll make sure you have delicious, healthy food to eat, a bike to ride, and quiet spaces to work so you can have a super productive week.

This year’s house dates are 13-18 October. We’ve partnered with the incredible team at Ocean Shelter to ensure you are located in one of the best spots in Europe for autumn waves - plus access to amazing forest on your doorstep for sunrise & sunset hikes, a yoga deck, saltwater pool, fire pit and hot tub.

Heads up - this is not a retreat, a workshop or a programme. The coworking house is for anyone who is -

  • working in the ocean/climate space
  • keen to hang with like-minded ocean advocates
  • able to work remotely or has a ‘deep work’ project they would like to dive into

“May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.”

Running an impact-focused business seems to map quite well to this quote from Edward Abbey. I’m beginning to understand that the amazing view is the clarity you get when you realise you were on the right path all along.

But that clarity doesn’t magically appear. It’s the result of walking the trail. Of paying attention and of listening deeply.

The very first iteration of Protect Blue was a gathering of ocean advocates in Italy in 2017. Since then we’ve hosted countless workshops, retreats, events & trainings - with each one, the mission becomes clearer.

A burned-out ocean advocate can’t achieve the impact they are striving for. And an ocean advocate without strategy won’t create the impact they are dreaming of.

Our focus is on scaling impact and staying stoked. That translates into building capability and building capacity. One without the other is useless.

We’ve found our flow - Supporting this incredible community with the tools to do the work and maintain a regulated nervous system whilst deeply connected to nature.

Wavemakers is the manifestation of that vision. A crew of phenomenal humans hanging out, working & playing in one of our favourite places in the world.

Massive thanks to every single person who has helped shape this magic journey we’re on. And deepest gratitude to the waves, mountains, forests, sunrises and sunsets that have provided us with the space, the sanctuary, the energy and the sense of belonging that enables us to do what we do.
