Feeling trapped in a cycle of endless applications and rejections? Here are 5 ways to keep your mental health in check while on the grind 🧘♀️ (#3 is perfect for this Labor Day weekend).
💛 Develop a Search Plan: Start with a clear plan. Define your goals, prioritize tasks, and stay organized to reduce anxiety and frustration.
💛 Take Regular Breaks: Just like an athlete, you need rest. Set alarms to remind yourself to take breaks, and give yourself at least one day off each week from job searching.
💛 Spend Time Doing What You Love: Hobbies are essential for maintaining your mental well-being. Whether it’s reading, cooking, or painting, make sure to carve out time for activities that bring you joy.
💛 Ask for Help: You’re not alone. Reach out to friends, family, or other job seekers for support, and don’t hesitate to seek professional help if needed.
💛 Exercise Regularly: Even a short walk or yoga session can boost your mood, energy and outlook so you can approach your search with positivity.
Take care of yourself—your mental health is the foundation for a successful job search.

🤝 Networking isn’t just about sending LinkedIn invites. It’s about making real, personal connections. Here’s how you can start today (#6 is my favorite):
-
First, figure out your goals. Who do you want to meet, and why? Knowing this will help you focus on the right people and places, whether that’s sliding into someone’s DMs on LinkedIn or showing up at a local event.
-
Next, find out where your people are hanging out. Whether it's online in LinkedIn groups or at a local meetup, go where the action is.
-
Lean in to referrals—your existing network can connect you with some seriously great people.
-
If you’re building connections online, make a list of 5 people (1st & 2nd connections) that you want to speak with. Send them a short personalized note to connect for a live call & include a scheduling link to your Calendly to make it easy to connect with you.
-
When you do make a connection, take it beyond just texting or emailing. Hop on a video call or meet for coffee to make it more personal.
-
Always offer your help when you can—this can be connecting your new connection with other people or sharing a skill. It’ll make people more likely to remember you and be more receptive to continuing the relationship.
-
Follow up on connections regularly to nurture the relationship. This could be as simple as sharing an article, post, or a regular video call. Remember, networking is simply building authentic relationships that last. 💬 What are some of your favorite networking success stories and tips to share?
I’ll go first in the comments 👇
