Highlights
Thank you to Kaitie Chambers for co-hosting today's session on "Principles of Meeting Design."
In case you missed it, he are four principles shared by Gatheround and Figmafor hosting effective meetings:
1️⃣ Design Intentionally Setting an agenda is table stakes. Consider not just the what, but the who and the how. What facilitation modalities will you use to best enable the agenda item?
2️⃣ Make Multiplayer The best way to tell if a meeting could have been an email is if one person talks the whole time. Create space for everyone to have a voice by adding a variety of activity types.
3️⃣ Do the Work Meetings are not the work. I'll say it again. Meetings are not the work. They are a vehicle for doing work. Record the outcomes of the meeting and articulate next steps to ensure the time wasn't wasted.
4️⃣ Prioritize Play Every meeting is an opportunity for connection. Use play to build empathy and trust. Play breeds creativity!
What do you think of our meeting principles? What would you add?
My favorite brainstorm, collaboration, meeting combo? Gatheround and Figma, of course.
Join Kaitie Chambers and me next Wednesday for a workshop about our shared principles for designing great meetings.
One of them, a shared value of our two companies, is PLAY ❤️
We'll share more next week!
