I woke up today, after receiving a rejection email, early evening yesterday, for a role I was really excited about & far in process for. Not gonna front here - I’m feeling extremely sad and disheartened.
Being a current #jobseeker at this time is so brutal. The effort we put into application questions, connecting with HMs / hiring teams, researching for roles, prepping for every interview, completing assignments we are tasked with etc. is exhausting.
I’m taking a mental / ME day. Actually I'm going to take the rest of the week “off”. The ROI on 1.5 days more of applying right now doesn’t seem worth the positive impact taking that same time out can do for my mental health. I need it.
That’s the long and short of it.
I hope my fellow #recruiters are providing candidates with timely updates on their status in the process. A “day” to wait on interview feedback seems like nothing, unless you’re the one waiting. I’ve truly never felt every minute of every hour in a day. To my fellow #jobseekers - I really hope you hear some good news today or before the end of the week!
And if not, please remember to take care of yourselves too. At the end of the day we are all human and just want to be treated as such. It’s okay to not be okay during these times.
