Lisa Stafford is a highly experienced applied researcher, educator, and planner with a strong focus on inclusive communities and disability justice.

With a PhD in Children, Disability, and Built Environments, Lisa has accumulated 20 years of experience spanning academia and various government and non-government professional practices.

Drawing from her personal experience as a chronically-ill disabled individual and wheelchair user, Lisa's work revolves around advocating for equity and justice in areas such as neighbourhood planning, transport equity, active and public transport strategies, socio-economic participation, and universal design.

An active member of professional bodies like the Planning Institute of Australia, Transport Australia Society, and Disability Leadership Institute, Lisa is also an AHRC Includeability Ambassador, championing inclusion and accessibility.

She is skilled in conducting participatory research and utilizing inclusive creative methods to ensure all voices are heard in research and public planning processes.

Lisa has held key positions at prestigious institutions like the Queensland University of Technology, University of Tasmania, Griffith University, and The Gordon, where she contributed significantly as a Project Manager, Senior Research Fellow, ARC DECRA Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Researcher among other roles.

Her extensive background includes roles in academia, research, and public service in the Queensland Government, cementing her expertise in creating inclusive environments and advocating for disability rights.
