🌐 Today, on International Women's Day, I join millions around the world in celebration, appreciation, and acknowledgement. I spent two 45 min sessions with some of the illustrious #WomenatSift and I am reminded how important community is. Showing up for one another and creating space without expectation or additional cognitive load is such a gift. We should do it more. As I reflect on this day, I recognize the privileges and opportunities that have shaped my own journey. I am grateful for the doors that have been opened to me and am aware that not everyone has been afforded the same. It's a reminder that we come to this work from different walks of life, and there is more work that still needs to be done to create a more inclusive and equitable world.
Admittedly, I often find myself navigating the complexities of how best to support the women in my life, both personally as a mother of two amazing girls and professionally. The balance between offering support and ensuring it's the right kind of empowerment can be challenging, especially as a leader. I am learning that listening with empathy, advocating where I can, and educating myself on my own blindspots are crucial steps.
To all the women in my network and beyond: I see you, I appreciate you, and I am here for you. Let's all pledge to be allies not just today, but every day, as we work towards a world where we continuously #InspireInclusion.
To those in my life that do not identify as women but who have supported me over the years, I am grateful for all those moments when you saw in me that which I could not always see in myself. It takes a village.
