Logan Smalley is a prominent figure in the education and nonprofit sectors, known for his role as the founding director of TED's global education initiative, TED-Ed. Before his tenure at TED, Logan distinguished himself as a TED Fellow and established his reputation in the film industry as the director, editor, and composer of the acclaimed documentary 'Darius Goes West,' which received 28 film festival awards in 2007.

In addition to his educational and filmmaking pursuits, Logan is the creative mind behind CallMeIshmael.com, a renowned literary project that earned him recognition as an honoree for the National Book Foundation's Innovations In Reading Prize in 2015. The project has notably transitioned into a published book, further solidifying Logan's impact on the literary landscape.

Logan embarked on his professional journey as a high school special education teacher in Athens, GA, before transitioning into various impactful roles within esteemed organizations. With a BA in Political Science from Stanford University, Logan has held key positions such as Head of Impact at TED Conferences, Director of Fellowship + Convenings at the Obama Foundation, and Regional GOTV + Special Projects Director at Hillary for America, showcasing his diverse skill set and commitment to social change.

Currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Logan Smalley continues to inspire through his work, leveraging his multifaceted background to drive meaningful innovation in education and beyond.
