Biomedical Engineering PhD candidate at WUSTL and Chief Technology Officer at Conduit

Logan Thrasher Collins is a renowned futurist, synthetic biologist, author, and innovator, known for his groundbreaking inventions and research in the field of synthetic biology. His exceptional work includes the creation of an antimicrobial protein called OpaL and a bacterial conjugation delivery system, which have been recognized in various prestigious platforms such as TEDxMileHigh, Intel ISEF, and ACS Biochemistry.

As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Conduit Computing, Logan leads a supercomputing project focused on visualizing interactions of SARS-CoV-2 proteins within cells to aid in developing potential drugs. His proposal on this research was accepted by the COVID-19 HPC Consortium, showcasing his significant contributions to fighting the pandemic.

Apart from his role at Conduit, Logan is spearheading the development of a rapid diagnostic tool for infectious diseases, including SARS-CoV-2, known as nanoSPLASH. This innovative tool aims to provide quick colorimetric diagnoses at home, demonstrating Logan's commitment to advancing healthcare technologies.

Currently pursuing a PhD in biomedical engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, Logan is dedicated to applying synthetic biology to enhance adenoviral gene therapy platforms. His future aspirations include becoming a professor at a leading research university to continue impacting lives positively and safeguarding the future of humanity.

Logan's educational background includes studies in Synthetic Biology at Dartmouth College, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, and majors in Molecular Biology and Neuroscience with Electrical Engineering electives at the University of Colorado Boulder. With a rich history of scientific roles at esteemed institutions, Logan's contributions to the field of synthetic biology and innovative technologies are highly commendable.
