Dr. Lois Takahashi is a distinguished scholar and educator in the field of Urban Planning and Policy. She holds a PhD in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California, a Master of Science (MS) in Public Policy/Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University, and an A.B. in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley.

Currently, Dr. Takahashi serves as the Houston Flournoy Professor of State Government at the University of Southern California - Sol Price School of Public Policy. She has held various leadership positions in academia including Director at USC Price in Sacramento, Interim Dean at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, and President of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning Inc. She has also contributed significantly as Associate Dean for Research at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, Associate Director at UC Asian American and Pacific Islander Policy MRP, and Chair of the Department of Urban Planning at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.

Dr. Takahashi's extensive teaching experience includes roles such as Professor and Director of the Program in Public Health at Dominican University of California, Visiting Professor at the University of California, San Francisco, and appointments at various levels within UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and UC Irvine. Her expertise spans Urban Planning, Public Policy, Architecture, and Asian American Studies, making her a versatile and well-rounded professional in the academic realm.
