An embarrassing example of how Google has failed in the AI game. Starring … yours truly🙋♀️.
Imagine my surprise when I Googled my name during a routine search audit, and was horrified to find a completely incorrect bio under my very specific LinkedIn search result.
Google's foundational job is to match search results with relevant metadata from the corresponding page. Instead, it is displaying the bio of someone else from a completely different page. This is a ridiculous algorithmic failure and utterly embarrassing for anybody else this is happening to. I am not a college freshman; I have a Master's Degree and 20+ years of experience in MarTech.
And this certainly couldn't be AI! The bio doesn’t even correspond to another person with my name. It corresponds to two people: a Hayley Knopple and a Daniela Speight. Perhaps they have my bio – which might help them as freshmen in the job market, but it certainly does not help me as a marketing & tech consultant.
Concerned and furious,

Dear brilliant LinkedIn Network. I'm working on a personal project to help the Jalambang School in The Gambia set up a digital donation option. Right now they are limited by a physical donation box, where the few visitors that actually come can throw in some spare cash. As we all know, that produces low impact. I'm looking for #DigitalPayment solutions for West #Africa. I don't believe PayPal is accepted there yet. But would also like to integrate the digital payment processor with a corresponding site or platform to showcase the cause such as a DonorsChoose. I believe the team at Village Capital was creating an accelerator for fintech companies in the region? Any insight would be appreciated!
