👋 Hey everyone!
Over the past few years I've developed a passion for mentoring and sharing what I've learned. This lead me to some cool opportunities like mentoring for BobaTalks, answering questions on Taro (YC S22) and volunteering at some hackathons.
I've decided now to start my own Substack newsletter. I will post there what I've learned on career development, in a longer format and focusing mostly on early in career and university stages. But, I hope this can be useful to anyone interested in growing in their career.
Today I just posted my very first issue, and I'd love to get some feedback! Cheers ✨
I really like this question on Taro (YC S22) about moving on from career mistakes. It got me thinking about the importance of having multiple, diverse experiences during university.
It's common to feel lost when you're just starting, because there's an overwhelming list of possibilities out there. That's why I think university is the perfect time to add multiple experiences to your resumé: you get to see what you like the most and you add value to your CV with different skills.
I like to think of these as "career stamps" that will open up the path to further opportunities. At the beginning, the more stamps you get, the better, and after a a number of stamps collected you will get to more impactful stamps. This mindset will help you build a broad, generalist resumé that can get you qualified for more job postings. And even if you decide to specialize in a field, there is always benefits of having multiple and diversified skills.
