Lucy-May Holtzhausen is a highly skilled Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Specialist based in Auckland, New Zealand.

She obtained her medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand in 1987 and pursued postgraduate studies in Sports Medicine at the University of Cape Town in 1992.

With a passion for research, Lucy-May conducted studies on managing collapsed ultra-endurance athletes and emergency medical practices at ultra-endurance athletic events.

She has an impressive academic background, having lectured in Anatomy and Physiology at Cape Town University and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Medicine at Otago University in 2005.

Furthering her education, she earned a Masters in Pain Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2008.

To solidify her expertise, Lucy-May completed fellowship training with the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine and has been practicing as a Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Specialist since then.

Her commitment to the field is evident through her role as the race medical director for the NZ Ironman event since 2003 and as a part-time lecturer at Otago University focusing on sports injuries.
