Friends! I have a success story to share, and spoiler alert, it means National Geographic Society is seeking it's next UX Designer.

The success story comes from none other than my former student Bruna Gomes. After her internship with NGS we brought Bruna on as a full time UX designer where she worked on everything from usability testing crowd sourced camera trap IDs to designing classroom resource tools for educators. Over the past year Bruna has been working on one of our most innovative products, a map based measurement and reporting tool for environmental organizations with large tracts of protected areas to monitor. Now that project has spun off into its own startup and Bruna was offered a position to join the team. I couldn't be more proud and I know this is only the beginning, so congrats Bruna, and thank you for your dedication to the Society 🙇🏼‍♂️

And so now we're looking for our next team member! This position will be contract to start, so please reply if you're someone who...

  • Has shipped and iterated on web based products in education or other media spaces
  • Cares deeply about language and visual communications both with teams and through interface design work
  • Follows a user centric design approach rapidly making, showing, and learning from their work
