Highlights
This study is a simple yet powerful demonstration of the Creative AI bias. We keep it as raw as possible, first generation, basic aspect ratio.
Image 1 - we prompt “Nike” Image 2 - we prompt “Nike sculpture” Image 3 - we prompt “Nike, greek goddess of victory” Image 4 - we prompt “Greek goddess of victory”
As a creative you have to see this as highly problematic. Nike Inc is such a powerful brand that you can not escape having an artifact of Nike Inc as soon as you include the word Nike in your prompt.
We have to subtract Nike from the prompt all together to actually start to have visual that reference Nike, the Greek goddess of victory that Nike Inc was name after.
Now take that concept and apply it across all domain of creativity, you have to remember that creative AI are trained on millions of images from the internet that have been pre-annotated. Ranking and popularity bias are omnipresent as well as all others form of AI bias.
As a creative you have to be aware of this when using tool like #midjourney to avoid falling under the illusion.
