Mª Vélez

Mª Vélez, a prominent figure in the field of Mathematics and Education, is currently overseeing the Industrial Technology Engineering degree program at Nebrija University while teaching subjects like Linear Algebra and Vector Calculus for Industrial Engineers.

With a research focus on Real Algebraic Geometry, Computational Algebra, Mathematics Didactics, and automated reasoning in Geometry, Mª Vélez also serves as the President of the Professions and Employability Commission at the Real Sociedad Matemática Española since January 1, 2020.

Having a strong academic background, Mª Vélez holds a degree in Mathematics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, as well as a Diploma in Higher Education Management from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Throughout her career, Mª Vélez has held various positions of leadership in university management, including roles such as Defender of the University Community, Mathematics Professor at EPS, Vice Chancellor for Research and Quality, Rector, Vice Chancellor for Academic Planning, and Director of the Department of Computer Engineering at Universidad Nebrija.
