Maayan Cohen is the Senior Director of Partnerships at Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE), formerly known as Alliance for Climate Education.1 Based in New York City, she develops, manages, and supports partnerships at all levels of the organization and represents ACE in climate organizing and movement building spaces.1

Maayan joined ACE in 2011, initially as an Educator and later as Program Manager in New York City.1 She has played a crucial role in growing ACE's New York City program, presenting the ACE Assembly to thousands of students, launching NYC's first Action Fellowship program, and piloting ACE's first Summer Institute.1

With a background in Environmental Studies from Bates College, Maayan has diverse experience in the environmental and climate field.1 Before joining ACE, she worked as a high mountain hut naturalist for the Appalachian Mountain Club and as an environmental and outdoor educator for Christodora, a NYC-based environmental education nonprofit.1

Maayan is passionate about addressing climate change, viewing it as the most urgent justice issue of our time.1 She believes strongly in the power of young people to lead positive change.1 Outside of work, Maayan enjoys live music, playing soccer, practicing Capoeira, and finding adventures in both urban and mountain settings.1
