Highlights
The 2024 Budget is a step in the right direction with a focus on skilling initiatives. The abolition of the angel tax, reduction of TDS on e-commerce operators, and the creation of 12 new industrial parks indicate this Governments' interest in creating a business-friendly environment in India.
However, I also look forward to seeing the Government prioritise investment in research and development in Artificial Intelligence (AI). By laying policy guidelines and incentivising investment in AI start-ups the Government can actively sow the initial seeds for a thriving domestic AI ecosystem.
