Meet Mohamed Aziz, the legendary 72-year-old bookseller from Rabat, Morocco, whose life is a testament to the transformative power of books. Orphaned at just six, Mohamed’s journey began with nine books on a small rug under a tree in 1963. Today, he owns thousands and is a beloved figure, recognized as the most famous bookseller in Morocco.

For Mohamed, reading is not just a hobby—it’s his way of living multiple lives. He reads 6-8 hours a day, stopping only to eat, pray, or help his customers find their next great read. His bookstore, in the same spot for over 43 years, stands as a beacon of knowledge in a country where 26% of the population still cannot read. His response to why he leaves his books unattended outside? “Those who cannot read don’t steal books, and those who can are not thieves.”

Books offer us the chance to live a thousand lives, to escape, to grow, and to understand the world and ourselves better. Mohamed has lived over 4,000 lives through his love for reading, and his story reminds us why books are so vital. In a world of constant change, they remain steadfast companions.

For the past few days, the #Olympic #Games in #Paris have been taking place, and while there has been much discussion about the athletes' performances, there's also been a heated debate online about the appearance of many female athletes. In the cases of two boxers, Imane Khelif from Algeria and Lin Yu-Ting from Taiwan, some even suggested that they were previously men. The situation was further inflamed by the fact that both were disqualified at the 2023 World Championships due to excessively high testosterone levels. Instead of focusing on their competition results, people started questioning who looked less feminine. Short hair and muscle definition were suddenly being used to judge gender (!). Fake news spread to the point where childhood photos of one of the boxers were published just to prove she is a woman (CRAZY!). Simone Biles, the famous American gymnast, was also targeted, with people absurdly searching for an Adam's apple (WTF). Meanwhile, Ilona Maher, an American rugby player, had to address comments about her weight because her BMI is 29, not considering that muscle weighs more than fat tissue!!!!. Kacper Bartosiak, a Polish journalist and boxing expert, noted in an interview with Onet that this was a case of "media lynching through social media."

There is no one "true" female appearance. Whether we have long hair, visible muscles, or a large bust—whether we are competing in sports or walking down the street—our bodies should not be subjected to commentary. By anyone. We should stand against fake news, hate speech, and the prevailing transphobia. ALWAYS! In sports, there are proper procedures to qualify contestants, and it's not up to fans to make these judgments. We should focus on the sport itself! Period!!!!
