LLMs for AI feel like Wright brothers first flight or Ptolemy's geocentric theory?
#ai #llm
Exams are not fair when they evaluate students using Multiple choice questions. They introduce bias for unnecessary speed, knowledge of tricks. Also, Luck in to the evaluation and ranking. (eg: select option A for all unanswered questions at the end)
But most competitive entrance exams rely on multiple choice questions. Its quick and cheap to evaluate the answer sheets using OCR/Computers.
Evaluating written answers to subjective questions(non-multiple choice) is time consuming and costly. 7 Rupees per paper in ~1999 (I earned some easy pocket money with such gigs at college)
With recent advances in LLM's; Hopefully, we can shift away from Multiple choice questions and Make Exams Fair
