Highlights
I am excited to share that I have accepted a Research Assistant position on one of my previous professor's team. I have loved my previous research positions in undergrad and I am looking forward to helping with research at a graduate level. I can't wait to see where this adventure takes me! #research #nursingstudent
Today marks my last day working at the Human Rights Campaign
In August 2019, I moved across the country to Washington, DC to start my next chapter in life as a graduate student at The George Washington University. While attending school, I knew that I wanted to use this opportunity of living in DC to work at a non-profit. As I browsed through open positions, I saw that HRC had a temp position open with their internship program and I immediately applied. A few weeks later, I was offered the position. Six months after this, I was offered a full-time position as the Internship Program Assistant.
While working at HRC, I helped manage the internship program, which provided me so many growth opportunities and the chance to welcome new interns each semester. My favorite thing about my position has been watching all of our interns grow throughout their time at HRC. I know each of them will do incredible things in this world.
Lastly, I want to thank the incredible internship/HR team for making my experience unforgettable. I was nervous to start my first adult job and this team welcomed me with open arms. I especially want to thank Amber Alcorn, PHR for being an outstanding supervisor for two years. Thank you for always giving me opportunities to grow professionally and supporting me every step of the way.
Although I am sad to be leaving HRC, I am looking forward to starting my next chapter. On Wednesday, August 25th, I will begin my Masters of Science, Nursing - Clinical Nurse Leadership program at Georgetown University. I look forward to working in the health care field in the future!
