Makiba Yamano brings a wealth of hands-on management experience in Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) with over 12 years of expertise.

Having worked in 15 countries across East and West Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia, Makiba has provided vital technical support to over 40 emergency responses.

She excels in designing, managing, and monitoring the global implementation of CPiE strategies, showcasing exceptional skills in program design and management, including logframe, narrative, and budgeting.

Makiba's strengths also lie in inter-agency coordination and networking at a global level, coupled with the ability to lead program start-ups by overseeing recruitment processes, procurement, and logistics.

She is adept at competency-based capacity building for CPiE staff and local partners and is committed to building an evidence base through robust research methodologies for CPiE programs.

Makiba Yamano holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Development Studies from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Doshisha University.

Throughout her career, she has held several key roles in reputable organizations, including serving as the Child Protection sub-cluster coordinator at UNICEF and occupying various positions at World Vision such as Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist, Humanitarian Protection Advisor, Child Protection Manager, Protection Coordinator, Program Manager, Humanitarian Protection Coordinator, and Program Officer.
