His professional journey includes being the Co-Founder of the Office of Environment and Society, where he is actively involved in creating sustainable and innovative architectural solutions. Makio has previously served as a Sustainable Design Team Associate at Washington University in St. Louis, showcasing his commitment to environmentally conscious design practices.

Furthermore, he has contributed to architectural research as a Steedman Traveling Research Fellow at Steedman Student Fellowship, working on projects that push the boundaries of traditional design norms. Prior to this, Makio honed his skills as a Design Intern at the prestigious MASS Design Group, gaining valuable experience in the field.
