Manar Abdelmagied

Climate Change Specialist

Manar Abdelmagied is a climate change specialist with a focus on integrating climate and nature risk considerations into agri-food and land use management strategies and policies, and creating supportive environments for smallholder food producers.

She holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Climate Change and Development from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in International Relations and Affairs from The College of William and Mary.

Manar has held various roles in prestigious organizations, including currently being a Climate Change Specialist at FAO. Previously, she worked as an Evaluation Analyst at FAO, in Monitoring & Reporting and Communications at UNEP, in Programme Support at Rift Valley Institute, in Dissertation Placement at Inter Africa Group, as a Workshop Coordinator at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and in Programme Support at Conflict Early Warning and Response Mechanism.
