Marc Malandro is the Chief Operating Officer of the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub Network, overseeing operations in the CZ Science ecosystem.
With a background in science operations, Marc played a key role in building the Science program at CZI.
Before his current role, he held positions at the University of Pittsburgh, including Vice Chancellor for Technology Management and Founding Director of the Innovation Institute.
Marc also co-founded Sagres Discovery, a company focusing on understanding the molecular basis of cancer.
His educational background includes a B.S. and M.S. in Biological Sciences from Youngstown State University, a D.Sc. from the same institution, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Florida College of Medicine.
