Highlights
Ahead of the completion of our Saks Early Career Development Program, I recently joined this year’s participants for a discussion on professional growth and development. Reflecting on my own experience starting out in the Saks Fifth Avenue executive training program, it’s always rewarding to share my experience and advice with those starting out in their careers. I’m increasingly inspired by their motivation, curiosity and enthusiasm and look forward to watching this group flourish at Saks. Congratulations to this talented group!
#SaksOrNowhere
On a day in and day out basis, we are competitors. But over time, we are all in an industry that focuses on customers and delivering great experiences for them. We all spend a lot of time thinking about this, and you don’t need to think long before the name Bruce Nordstrom comes to mind. Over the weekend, Nordstrom lost one of its pioneers, but all of us lost a champion of the customer and somebody who helped define where all retailers need to focus. On behalf of the Saks team, we share our deepest sympathies and condolences for Pete, Jamie, Erik and the entire Nordstrom family.
