Marc Porter Magee is a dedicated professional with a strong background in public policy, education, and entrepreneurship. He developed a keen interest in these areas during his academic journey, obtaining a Ph.D. in Sociology from Duke University, focusing on civic engagement and social capital. His educational foundation includes a Bachelor's degree in Sociology with a Minor in English from Georgetown University. Marc's career in Washington, DC started at the Progressive Policy Institute, where he supported the expansion of service programs like AmeriCorps. His passion for transforming government led him to the Partnership for Public Service, where he recruited young talents to drive change within the federal government.

Transitioning to the realm of education, Marc joined ConnCAN: The Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now in its inaugural year, serving as the Chief Operating Officer. His role involved leading various teams in communications, development, research, and government relations. In 2010, Marc took a significant step by founding 50CAN: The 50-State Campaign for Achievement Now, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for quality education nationwide. Through 50CAN, Marc has successfully raised over $200 million, supporting local leaders in several states and cities, resulting in more than 150 policy victories and positively impacting millions of students across the country.
