Marcia Soviak

Harvard-Trained Healthcare and Housing Advocate

Marcia Soviak, a native of Oahu and a Harvard College 2017 graduate, has a unique background that has shaped her passion for ending homelessness in Hawaii.

After caring for her ill mother in Hawaii and running an events planning business, Marcia retook the SATs, reapplied to colleges, and gained admission to Harvard.

During her time at Harvard, she received grants for research projects focusing on homelessness and a public service fellowship under Housing First founder Dr. Sam Tsemberis.

Now back in Hawaii, Marcia is dedicated to utilizing her skills and interests to address the pressing issue of homelessness in the state and improve healthcare access for the community.

As a part-time pre-med student at the University of Hawaii with a keen interest in psychiatry, she aims to contribute to the intersection of healthcare and housing for the homeless population in Hawaii.
