Highlights

I hold a deep passion for low-fi sketching.
Visualizing concepts during a discussion dramatically boosts understanding and ensures everyone comprehends the implications of various decisions.
Missed opportunities to use visualization during key moments, such as workshops, can undermine the collective team effort, with the potential risk of everyone leaving with a different understanding.
Visualizing isn't limited to interfaces - it also includes graphs, matrices, storylines, scenarios, and journey mapping.
Creating a rough sketch from a discussion is by no means an easy task. It demands:
💡 Comprehension: Understanding the idea before attempting to draw.
🔭 Clarity: Possessing a clear vision to produce a design that others can understand without needing an explanation.
📖 Storytelling: Being able to portray actions and their consequences.
🪄 Personality: Adding your unique touch to make it stand out. No magic required, just passion and individuality.
I firmly believe that the ability to rapidly visualize concepts is a fundamental skill for anyone wishing to earn the title of 'designer'. This is why I hold pen and paper in high regard above all other design tools.
Pictured: Myself unwinding with my favorite colleague - the user, after an engaging workshop facilitated by Andres Calvachi, where I had the chance to create some on-the-spot rough designs.
