This week Citi celebrated an incredible milestone with the Opportunity LA team as they became the largest universal Children Savings Account program in the nation now reaching over 100,000 students!
Research shows that students with even a small amount of college savings are more likely to attend and graduate from college. Saving for college from an early age changes the conversation in families and can help build a college-going identity for students, while also preparing families financially for this goal.
The Citi Start Saving® platform helps municipalities and nonprofits administer the financial components of their savings accounts programs and helps to eliminate barriers for families to make healthy financial decisions. I'm proud of the work and grateful for the opportunity to support LA families and children.
Thank you Abigail Marquez, Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, and the Opportunity LA team for your leadership on this incredible work.
