Margaret Guo

Margaret Guo is a highly accomplished individual who has excelled in academics, athletics, and engineering. She graduated from MIT in June 2016 with a perfect 5.0 GPA, earning dual degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Bioengineering.13 During her time at MIT, Guo was a standout swimmer, becoming a six-time NEWMAC All-Conference honoree, a two-time NCAA All-American, and a three-time NCAA All-America Honorable Mention recipient.3

In 2016, Guo was named the NCAA Woman of the Year, becoming the first MIT student-athlete and just the fourth Division III student-athlete to receive this prestigious honor.34 This award recognized her exceptional achievements in academics, athletics, community service, and leadership.

After graduating from MIT, Guo pursued an MD-PhD at Stanford University, focusing on the interdisciplinary field between bioengineering and EECS.12 Her research interests include creating quantitative biological models for developing diagnostic and therapeutic devices.1

During her undergraduate years, Guo completed a software internship in HPI Engineering at Intuitive Surgical.34 She also earned the Intel Scholarship and the GE Women's Network Scholarship.3 Additionally, Guo holds two patent-pending recognitions and is a co-author on two scholarly articles.3
