We started the holidays with a morning volunteering with Thread Together.
Did you know that more than 30% of brand new clothes end up in landfill! Because of the manufacturing materials most garments are not compostable.
Thread Together aims to solve this problem but does so much more in supporting communities in need. They receive excess new clothing from hundreds of brands and have developed an innovate distribution system to provide these to people most in need.
Thread Together gives people their dignity back and makes them feel good with new clothes at a time when they have nothing. This includes refugees, natural disaster victims, homeless, people affected by domestic violence and so many more.
It was an incredibly rewarding experience to sort and pack clothing together with my teenage daughters, in the age of fast fashion. I became quite emotional packing an order for a young woman who has just given birth. Having been a new Mum once, it was a privilege to pick out beautiful appropriate outfits that would be comfortable and practical, as well as an oversized Calvin Klein bag.
I was surprised that such an organised and effective operation is run by a special team of only 8 people. This is because of the incredible partnerships and support that they have established.

Absolutely buzzing today after hosting our monthly All Hands at Prospa. Our people and customers are the lifeblood of our business - so it was fantastic to connect as one-team with our NZ, AU, remote and hybrid teams.
