Maria Gavouneli is an accomplished individual with a strong academic background and extensive experience in the field of International Law.

Having pursued her education at reputable institutions, Maria holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in International Law as well as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law and Legal Studies from the University of Cambridge. She also obtained a Ptychion in Law from Ethnikon kai Kapodistriakon Panepistimion Athinon.

Throughout her career, Maria has been actively involved in academia and legal practice. She serves as an Associate Professor of International Law at the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, where she imparts her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of legal professionals.

Maria has also held significant roles in the field of human rights, having served as the Vice President and Chair of the Sub-Committee for International Cooperation at the Greek National Commission For Human Rights. Her contributions to the promotion and protection of human rights have been commendable.

In addition to her academic and public service commitments, Maria Gavouneli has also made substantial contributions to the legal profession through her role as an Executive Partner at Gavouneli Micha Law Firm, where she has been involved in providing legal counsel and representation to clients.
