Marie Gantz
Senior Research Statistician - RTI International
Marie G. Gantz is a highly accomplished senior research statistician at RTI International's Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, with a strong background in leading statistical efforts for various National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded projects.
She has been involved in investigating interventions to enhance pregnancy outcomes in minority groups, treatments for medical conditions affecting low birthweight babies, interventions for pelvic floor disorders in women, and therapies for fecal incontinence in adult men and women.
Dr. Gantz has served as principal investigator for the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD)-funded Initiative to Reduce Infant Mortality in the District of Columbia (NIH-DC Initiative), showcasing her leadership and expertise in managing complex research projects.
Currently, she fulfills the role of principal investigator for the DCC of the Pelvic Floor Disorders Network (PFDN) and as alternate PI for the DCC of the Neonatal Research Network, both funded by NICHD, demonstrating her continued commitment to advancing healthcare research.
With a strong emphasis on providing statistical and managerial leadership, Dr. Gantz collaborates closely with clinical researchers and NIH teams to design studies, analyze data, and disseminate findings from clinical trials and observational studies.
Her extensive responsibilities encompass overseeing all aspects of DCC operations, ranging from statistical study design, protocol development, and data analysis to quality assurance, biospecimen handling, and communication coordination.
Moreover, Dr. Gantz has contributed to publications on Prader-Willi Syndrome and maintains an active presence in the scientific community through her research work.
Dr. Gantz holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Kentucky, an M.S. in Applied Statistics from George Mason University, and a BA in Communications and Art from the University of Virginia, underlining her multidisciplinary educational background.
Prior to her current position at RTI International, she served as a Research Associate at The Urban Institute, showcasing a well-rounded professional experience.
