Marije van Kempen is a highly educated professional with a diverse academic background. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Law, a Master's degree in Communication Science, and a Bachelor's in Social Science, all earned with distinctions and cum laude honors. Additionally, she has a Master's degree in International and European Law, a Certificate in Land, Housing, and Property Rights from the United States Institute of Peace, and a Rule of Law certificate from the same institute.

With a strong educational foundation, Marije has built an impressive career working for various renowned organizations. Her roles have included being a Rule of Law Cluster Coordinator at UNDP Afghanistan, Programme Analyst for Justice and Security at UNDP BCPR, and serving as an Associate Expert in Rule of Law and SSR at the United Nations Mission in Sudan and the UN Department of Peacekeeping Operations.

Prior to her international roles, Marije was a Policy Advisor at the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Economic Affairs in the Netherlands. She gained valuable experience working as a Paralegal for Liesbeth Zegveld, specializing in Human Rights and International Law, and as a Personal Assistant at Eurocommercial Properties.

Marije's professional journey also includes internships at the Netherlands Permanent Mission to UNESCO and experiences as a Geriatric Caretaker at Foundation 'Het Occo Hofje'. Additionally, she has expanded her knowledge in Managing and Leading in Turbulent Times with a program at the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
