Marilou Johnson

Vice Provost for Academic Development at James Madison University

Marilou Johnson is an accomplished individual with a strong background in communication and academic leadership.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Communication from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, a Master of Science in Mass Communication with a focus on Broadcast Journalism from Arkansas State University, and a B.S. in Communication Arts from James Madison University.

Marilou has served in various key roles at James Madison University, including Vice Provost for Academic Development, Director of the School of Media Arts and Design, Associate Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Interim Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
