100k followers as an AI educator on LinkedIn 🤯

There’s a certain group of people I’ve followed for years across platforms - they provide raw, firsthand insights about AI, tech & product, that actually click with me. But with all the noise out there, I realized I process information best the old-school way - just taking notes and breaking things down in ways that make sense to ME personally.

Then something wild happened. I started sharing my opinions, filming little videos of new AI tools as I explore them, teaching my learnings from my 13 years in the industry - then created my own substack for more ‘academic’ content that I summarize on LinkedIn, and via all this I somehow ended up a published author. I discovered this new identity as an “AI educator” outside my Google day job which is very, very fulfilling.

LinkedIn is wonderful. The reach is amazing, it enables me to get students on my AI Bootcamp from all over the world, I have great/thought provoking conversations and also get opportunities my way I wouldn't get otherwise (speaking invites, conferences). What was surprising to me is that this identity follows me EVERYWHERE. I'm on vacation and I still find myself writing. Always scheduling posts throughout the week (this was written on midnight!), even when I have no wifi fighting with hotspot from a cabin in Canada or during that trip to Sweden (this photo!). So grateful. Got a long way to go on X 🙃
