Marina Freitas Grossi is a pioneer in the field of corporate sustainability in Brazil with over 30 years of experience in sustainable finance and climate risk.

She is actively involved in promoting sustainable business models, mobilizing and coordinating efforts between companies, government, and civil society, and seeking solutions to advance sustainable development in Brazil.

Marina has a significant background in international negotiations, having led the Group of 77 + China in 1999 and served as a negotiator at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conferences of the Parties (COP) from 1998 to 2003.

She has organized corporate sector representation at climate COPs and biodiversity COPs since 2006 and the World Water Forum in 2016.

With a strong focus on sustainability, Marina has led the revision of the Kyoto Protocol's regulations, published influential works like 'Vision 2050 – a new agenda for companies' showcased at Rio+20 in 2012, and conducted research on global changes while advising the Ministry of Science and Technology.

She has also been instrumental in developing the Green Bond Emission Guide, which won the 'Initiative of the Year' award at the Environmental Finance Green Bond Awards 2017.

Currently, Marina serves as the President of the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development (CEBDS) since 2010, reflecting her expertise and leadership in the sustainability realm.

Marina's educational background includes courses in Corporate Governance, Climate Change, Climate and Sustainability, Carbon Markets, and Economics from prestigious institutions like the Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa, University of Cambridge, Fundação Dom Cabral, University of Melbourne, and Universidade de Brasília.

Throughout her career, Marina has held key positions in various organizations, including President at CEBDS, Partner-President at Fábrica Éthica Brasil, Coordinator at FBMC - Brazilian Forum on Climate Change, and positions at Ministries and international agencies.
