Mark Brongersma

Mark Brongersma is a Professor at Stanford University in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, leading a research team focused on new materials and structures for nanoscale electronic and photonic devices.

His research includes Si nanostructures, optical micro-resonators, and metallic nanostructures affecting light flow at the nanoscale, with a specific focus on Si nanocrystals as efficient light emitters.

He received a PhD in Materials Science from FOM Institute in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and was a postdoctoral research fellow at Caltech. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology.
