Mark T. Donahoe is a prominent figure in the finance and real estate industries, known for his role as the Managing Partner and co-founder of Monitor Finance, a company with a substantial portfolio of over 7,000 multi-family units and over $700 million in real estate assets under management.
Before his endeavor with Monitor Finance, Donahoe had a distinguished career at Piper Jaffray, where he served as a senior executive from 1982 to 2006. During his tenure, he held various leadership positions, culminating in the role of Senior Managing Director and Head of Equity Trading. In this capacity, he oversaw the company's equity execution services businesses, managing activities such as New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq trading, algorithmic and program trading, as well as convertible sales and trading.
Moreover, Donahoe has actively contributed to associations within the securities industry, having served as the president of the Minnesota Securities Dealers Association (MSDA) and as a board member of the Business Economic Education Foundation (BEEF). Additionally, he was a trustee for the Securities Industry Foundation for Economic Education (SIFFEE) from 1995 to 1998.
Over his extensive career, Donahoe has garnered recognition as a markets expert and has been quoted in reputable national print and broadcast media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and CNBC. Donahoe's academic background includes a BA in Finance from the University of St. Thomas and studies at Utah State University. In addition to his roles at Monitor Finance and Piper Jaffray, Donahoe has been involved in various other organizations, including co-founding Elevate Property Management, presiding over Donahoe Capital, LLC, and serving as the Managing Director Head of Trading at Piper Jaffray.
