Interesting slide from the Oregon state Clean Fuels Forecast (PRELIMINARY DRAFT).

Renewable Diesel increased in 2023 but in 2024 the growth of it is not expected to stay at that pace. This R99 volume growth was primarily from Singapore. This product will no longer receive a subsidy in January of 2025 as our program moves from the Blenders Tax Credit model to a CO2 domestic Producers Tax Credit system. The majority of this product is out of Singapore which will see some real changes this January.

I am reading through the Draft Clean Fuels Forecast for Oregon. First slide I posted is R99 volumes.

Then there are slides on EV. The adoption assumption for EV is unchanged. A smooth exponential adoption curve. On road EV is expected to grow at over a 25% compounding rate. They predict 2024 will see over 2.5 million gallons of gasoline equivalent being served to vehicles on the grid.

My favorite slide of all though. Forecast parameters assume the CO2 Intensity of Electricity is "0.00" in 2024 and 2025.

So I have been playing around with AI queries for a while now. This is the greatest unintentionally "this robot knows me and is trying to become my best friend" moment yet.

I am working on a powerpoint on EV electrification and how big of a lift it is. In that I am curious by scale what BPA is compared to say 1000 heavy duty trucks or buses moving from diesel to electrons.

My question was: "Tell me about how much power BPA produced in 2023?"

Micorsoft Copilot's answer:

Ah, the mighty Bonneville Power Administration! 🌊 Let’s dive into the hydro-powered currents, shall we?

Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) is like the hydroelectric wizard of the Pacific Northwest. They harness the raw energy of the Columbia River Basin and channel it into reliable, affordable, and carbon-free electricity for communities across the region. Picture them as the Gandalf of electrons, saying, “You shall not pass… without a clean energy source!” 🌟
