I'm looking forward to providing a "State of the Industry" address at the Global Workspace Association (GWA) annual conference in Phoenix on Sept 12th. In my remarks I'll be diving deep into the current state of the flexible office economy, and the major levers that are fueling its accelerating growth.

The GWA brings together the leading coworking and flexible office providers, technology providers, real estate service providers, enterprise real estate leaders, HR professionals and more.

Don't miss out on the conversation. Join us in Phoenix! https://lnkd.in/gbGPHa-W

"the optimists are eventually proven right. Not every day, but always and eventually" declares Josh Brown in the attached post shared by Prof G.

Brown argues, wisely, that "bad stuff lands like a thud" and "generates headlines".

We've seen no shortage of this pessimism in the media's reporting on the workplace and office industry: 😨 "Why workers might eventually reject hybrid work" - BBC 😩 "New Study Shows Shocking Lack Of Hybrid Work Guidelines" - Fortune 😷 "Why Hybrid Work Can Become Toxic" - Harvard Business Review 🤒 "Working From Home Is Less Healthy Than You Think" - New York Times

"But" Brown continues, "the optimists are eventually proven right. Not every day, but always and eventually. Indisputably. It just takes a while to be able to see it play out. Even if you don’t believe me, make your investment in the future anyway, just in case I end up being right again. Plant your seed regardless. If you end up being right in your pessimism many years from now, we will all have bigger problems than what our investments are worth. Being optimistic all the time is difficult. But having any other disposition as a default setting makes little sense when you’re investing for a future far out in front of us."

I'm betting on an optimistic future for work and workplace, and yes the planet.

😀 I'm betting on employee choice. I'm betting on better life/work balance.
💰 I'm betting on massive commercial office savings for most companies.
🌎 I'm betting on lower carbon footprint.

💚 I'm betting on "work from where it works".

LiquidSpace - more happy people, working in better spaces, the planet smiles.
