Mark Gould

Chief Payments Executive, Federal Reserve Financial Services

Mark Gould is the first chief payments executive of the Federal Reserve System, responsible for leading cash and payment services nationwide.

He is a proven leader known for driving organizational change, advocating for transparency, inclusion, diversity, and mentorship in the workplace.

Mr. Gould previously held the positions of chief operating officer and first vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, overseeing US currency domestically and internationally.

With a thirty-year career at the Federal Reserve, Mr. Gould started in the Retail Payments Division, advanced to leadership roles at the Seattle branch, and held national cash product director position.

He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Pacific Lutheran University and a master's degree in applied economics from Seattle University.

An active member in the community, Mr. Gould serves as a vice chair on the Board of Regents of Pacific Lutheran University and resides in Lafayette, California, with his wife Lisa.
