Mark Irwin

Mark Irwin is a prolific author known for his eight collections of poetry, two translation volumes, and a book of essays on contemporary American poetry titled Monster.

With notable publications like Large White House Speaking and American Urn: New & Selected Poems (1987- 2014), Irwin has garnered recognition through prestigious awards such as four Pushcart Prizes and two Colorado Book Awards.

His expertise extends to teaching in the PH.D. in Literature & Creative Writing Program at the University of Southern California and the Summer MFA Program at Ashland University.

Mark Irwin holds an MFA in Poetry Writing and Translation from the University of Iowa's Writers' Workshop and a PhD in Comparative Literature & English from Case Western Reserve University.
